AAP is a NGO started in the autumn of 2010. Our work is predominately in the Philippines where we are running projects with local partners to protect, advocate and improve the rights of marginalised children and young people.
Through our projects we strive to educate children and young people and give them opportunities to pursue their aspirations and dreams in life.
The name Active Aid Partnerships symbolises three important elements in our work. ‘Active’ symbolises that we wish to take active part in defining the projects that we support as well as continuously involve ourselves in these projects. At the same time ‘Active Aid’ can be read/heard as ‘Activate’, which reflects our wish to empower and activate the young Filipinos we are reaching with our projects. ‘Partnerships’ symbolises that partnerships are essential for us as we wish to build on the knowledge, experience and dedication of our partners’ existing work.
AAP’s mission is to protect, advocate and improve rights of children and young people, provide them with improved education, and give them opportunities to grow and unleash their potential.
Through working with individuals, we strive to positively influence local communities and build a Philippines where servant leadership provides better quality of living for the many.
We have a developmental perspective on our work and believe that empowerment and sustainability should be essential elements in the projects we support.
We are committed to working with strong local partners, who can ensure that our projects and goals are carried out effectively, responsibly and compassionately. Professional skills are of course a prerequisite, but a passion for the cause is equally important.
We are a non-sectarian NGO with a genuine wish to aid people regardless of political and/or religious beliefs. Geographically we are focused on the Philippines. However, projects in other countries might be considered in the future.
Our selection of projects will reflect the above beliefs and considerations.
